From the Desk of the Dean

Welcome to the Government College of Art and Design. Our institute very soon grew into a full-fledged art college and today conducts specialized B.F.A. Degree Courses in Painting, Applied Art & Textile Design.

Currently, about 350 students are receiving art education under the able guidance of about 25 highly efficient and expert art teachers. We offer an Art Teachers Diploma to further expand academic horizons. Our college takes pride in possessing its own adequate library along with the most up-to-date facilities in departments like our Computer Lab, Animation Studio, Photography, Screen Printing, and Print Making Department.

The College has been proudly affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Our Degree Courses in Painting and Applied Art have been running successfully since 1981, and our Textile Design Degree Course was introduced in 2011. Furthermore, all our degree courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

During the last 41 years, numerous students from this College have been awarded prizes and honored in many state and national level exhibitions. The staff members of our College are also exceptionally active in the field of art, consistently participating and winning awards and honors in major art exhibitions at the State, National, and International levels.

During the period of last 41 years number of students from this College have been awarded prizes and honored in many Exhibitions of State & National level. The staff members of the College are also very active in the field of art and have been participating and winning awards and honors in major art exhibitions in state, National & International level. To-day the Art College is forging ahead with its short but prosperous background for its mission. This Institute is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
